John Thannisch joined the Commercial Bank of Texas team in 2017 and has been highly successful in meeting customers’ needs and growing the Wealth Management division. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Accounting and obtained his CPA license shortly thereafter. John is also a graduate of the Management Development Program sponsored by the Texas Bankers Association and the Leadership Lufkin program.

His experience for the past 31 years has been in trust services in the East Texas market working with various types of accounts including retirement plans such as 401(k)s, profit sharing, and IRAs. He also works with investment accounts, custody, agency, and endowment funds.

As with all our banking officers and employees, John continues to showcase the CBTx vision of being a community-focused financial services organization. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for Lufkin Fireman's Relief and Retirement Fund, serves as Treasurer for the Lufkin Masonic Lodge, is a member of the Z&OO Railroad Advisory Board, and serves on the Naranjo Museum Board. John also actively participates in the Lufkin Host Lions Club and Harmony Hill Baptist Church.

Nacogdoches and Commercial Bank of Texas have always been home for Holt Davis.

“I have been a customer of CBTx since I was old enough to have my own checking account,” he said. “Over the years I have gotten to meet leaders in the bank. Those men and women embodied the professionalism and dedication to the community that I want in my own career.”

As a ninth-generation Nacogdoches native, Holt attended Nacogdoches High School, where he met his wife, Bailey Jo, before moving to Fort Worth to study business administration at Texas Christian University. He began his career as a project manager for a financial software implementation consultancy, working with more than 20 clients across North America and Europe. After eight years in Fort Worth, he returned to Nacogdoches and joined CBTx, beginning in the internal audit department before moving into Wealth Management.

With such deep roots, Banking Texas Style comes naturally to Holt.

“I grew up hearing that the word ‘Texas’ comes from the Caddo word for ‘friend,’” he said. “Whether someone’s family has been in Texas for 200 years or they came to the state yesterday, they can embody the Texan spirit just by being a friend to others. When you bank with CBTx, you’re banking with people who will treat you like a friend: people who care about your community, and people who want to see you succeed at your financial goals.”

As one of the people responsible for oversight of investment accounts, Holt draws on his deep understanding of investment strategy and his diligent attention to customer service to help his clients achieve their financial goals.

“Each customer trusts me with a critical piece of their life, their finances,” he said. “Often, going the extra mile requires us to undergo a task that is complex or challenging, and I want my customers to know they chose the right person to count on with those tasks.”

Holt earned his BBA in marketing and entrepreneurial management from Texas Christian University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and he is in the process of becoming a Certified Financial Planner. He is a member of the Nacogdoches Rotary Club, and he and his wife attend First Christian Church of Nacogdoches.

 

Teddy Lindblad’s job revolves around numbers, but he makes sure to focus on the faces behind the figures.

“To me, ‘Banking Texas Style’ means putting relationships over transactions,” he said. “CBTx is a community bank, and we take a partnership approach with our customers. To us, they’re not some number on a spreadsheet – they’re our family.”

As a specialist in long-term wealth management, Teddy works closely with clients to protect and grow their wealth by making thoughtful decisions aligned with their values and goals. He is committed to being a good steward of their resources and draws on his strong relationship-building and analytical skills to serve his clients with confidence and care.

A native of Connecticut, Teddy moved to Texas during his senior year of high school. He earned his associate degree in business management from Collin College and his bachelor’s degree in general business from the University of North Texas.

His CBTx story began with “a happy coincidence” during a career transition.

“I just so happened to be neighbors with Miles McCall,” he said. “He was gracious and generous, showing me the world of community banking and the amazing culture at CBTx. I decided to join the team and began learning as much as I could about the banking industry. I started as a Business Banker and Business Development Officer and quickly transitioned into a Trust Officer on the Wealth Management team.”

Teddy is a member of the Rotary Club of Allen and the Allen Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Jamie, live in McKinney with their two dogs and eight chickens.

Weston Crawford understands the importance of strong roots, and he strives to help his clients take advantage of the solid growth they provide.

“Banking Texas Style conveys our willingness to be big and bold, while also maintaining a down-to-earth mindset,” he said. “We service our community in ways that aren't just dollars and cents, but rather, actual people's physical needs.”

As a Wealth Management and Trust Officer, Weston first puts himself in his client’s shoes to better understand what they need.

“I ask myself what I would want as the customer, and if it’s something I would want for myself, I try to give that to the whomever I’m dealing with,” he said. “I combine this willingness with a strong desire to develop my financial knowledge across various sectors. I specialize in knowledge of the overall crypto market.”

Weston joined CBTx at the recommendation of a close childhood friend, Jacob Hightower. He has worked in three separate departments (support, lending, and wealth management) and has worn the hats of customer service representative, loan assistant, and trust and investment services assistant.

A Nacogdoches native, Weston graduated from Central Heights High School in 2012 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from SFA with a bachelor’s in political science in 2015.

Weston and his wife, Brianna Horton, have three children, Cayle, Bentley, and Beckett. He is a committed youth sports coach and enjoys hunting and fishing.  If there is one pastime he loves the most, it's watching America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Who would you consider to be your hero? My hero is my father. Cliché in some senses, but he truly has encouraged me throughout my life to always be true to myself. I can't thank him enough for that.

For Greg Porter, the most important part of the job – customer service – is his favorite part of the job.

“I find the interactions with the customers the most rewarding,” he said. “I’m motivated by the satisfaction I get when I’m able to help them.”

Greg began his banking career as a high school senior, working half days at Lufkin National Bank. He earned his BA in criminal justice with a business minor from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1993 and has been a licensed insurance agent since 1998. He joined CBTx Insurance Services in 2005. Since that time, Greg has been helping the bank’s customers save money on insurance and grow their money through annuities.

Brandi Reynolds is a CPA and has a BBA in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University. She and her husband have a daughter and two dogs.
